52 year old guy who has zero experience in any of this gold, prospecting, treasure hunting etc.
But I have seen youtube videos of magnet fishing. And that looks like a hobby for me.
I bought a rare earth magnet about 10 years ago as a bit of an oddity (its about 100mm x 20mm) and it has sat in my garage ever since. It doesnt have an eyelet so I'm not sure I can use it. I dont even know what strength it is or if it has kept all of its strength - is that even a thing with magnets?
I am very interested in getting any tips or hints, do's and don'ts of the hobby from any of you who have experience in it.
So feel free to provide advice, send me to advice websites or forums - whatever. Ill soak it all up.
