Had an RDO today and went for hunt #66, went back to the same spot as last hunt, came up with some beauties:

Scored my oldest ever silver today after about 20 mins on site:

Did pretty well on silvers today, got the most Ive ever dug on one hunt:

Also an 1889 vicky half penny:

Scored this too, which Im hoping is a shot musket ball... its not perfectly round and its hit something... hopefully its not just a banged up sinker:

And finally this, which Im assuming is perhaps some sort of saddlery:

Also got $11.20 in spendables, 2 roo pennies, a toasted commonwealth half penny and a bunch of BBs

It was a day off work well spent! :D

Cheers :Y:

Got yourself some nice silvers there, especially when dipping into Victorian era silvers. Correct on the lead decoration, a saddlery rosette. :D

Went of for hunt #67 today.. just a casual 1/2 swing at the local park... scored a few bits..

Not my best day out, but it was fun nevertheless :D ;)

Actually went out for hunt #67 today, just went to a new spot locally.

Found it on google maps, old trees in straight lines either side of the reserve made me think it used to be an old house site or something, Im not sure if theyre native trees or not.

It was starting to look like a bust, lists of spent 303 casings, few 303 projectiles, 4-5 broadhead arrow heads and a bunch of fishing sinkers... but I kept at it

Scored this beauty:

Thats a bucket list find for me, Ive found half of one before but really happy to get a nice full one!

Other than that I scored my first ever NZ coin... 20c

And a few more BBs to add to the pile, no pre decs today, but thats the game :D

Cheers!

Nice setup you have there, won't be long before you'll need a second one (or lots of plastic compartment containers for excess gear). :D

Got out to 2 permissions today with pretty meagre returns for hunt #69

Permission 1:

Not much at all left of the ruin, only a few rows of stonework left!

Pretty minimal finds there, scored a thimble but the landowner wanted to keep it, which is fine thats the game! I forgot to take a photo first though :8

I did manage this button from that site though:

1561903285_f55f8b5f-51bb-4e68-a0f7-9321ee5ee7a8.jpg

1800sish button

Onto site two, a much more complete ruin:

Again very slim pickings, however I did manage to snag this florin:

1561903406_46a5a630-8781-4f4c-be55-51821c0088c7.jpg

The gold toning on the florin almost gave me a heart attack, it looked very gold comming out of the ground :drooling:
For a split second I was very confused at what I had, looked like a massive gold coin, obviously much bigger than a sovereign, thought maybe I was into some actual treasure

Pretty average day, the florin definitely saved the day though

Cheers!

Moses Levy & Co specialised in Navy clothing. I think that's an old sailor's button there. Nice find!

Cheers,
Megsy
