Dist 93, nairne in SA, Found in Mt Barker... old Fido wasnt far from home at all :Y:

Total pain digging trash like that, but worth it when a nice golden something appears in your hand.

I usually try to discrim out the bottletops as best I can but those aluminium pulltabs are right in the gold ring tones and TID range, I pretty much always dig pulltabs even if I'm 99% certain it's not gold.

In saying that though, I nearly walked away from 2 nice bits of gold, one was an 18k white gold ring that I thought was a 10c coin and the other a 15g 9k gold bangle that I thought was trash too, curiosity got the better of me though. :D

Went back to the old home site for hunt #52 and scored a few gems:

Second British silver, oldest silver now by 1 year!

Just goes to show, things can be missed! Regardless of whos been there before! Im sure Im not the only detectorist whos been to that spot also!

Very happy, found nothing else, but the silver is more than enough for me :Y:

Really happy with the detail on the front, ole Vicky is worse for wear though

Never seen anything like that damage on a coin. Sure looks like it's been hit with a blowtorch, but the display side is mint so who cares!
