Cool find there Greenhornet... it reminds me of my first toy piece, also pewter lead but a bit smaller in scale to the hippo. My little donkey is also solid, going by its weight.... alas he is a little short due to missing his four hooves.
I unearthed him in the grounds of a derelict church in the Southern Flinders.

Mate, that is really awesome, so tiny and the detail.

Looks like a sheep to me from the UK with tail, are the hoofs missing because it was mounted on a flat base of metal originally, like toy soldiers.
It is so small that I think it is like a piece from a board game.

Flinders Ranges hey, great find, great find. clap

Yes, a sheep, now that you mention it... I can see that’s what it is, a predecessor of the Aussie breed maybe. idea

Maybe it came from the UK with a family, so it may have been one of those farm sets of toys, things get modelled after what is local.

Still really impressive. "Straight to the pool room"

The cap bombs and guns bring back some memories.

Here is a boot found at the beach. I wonder if it was attached to a doll or was a standalone toy.
Not surprising it was lost, I can just imagine a doll going for a swim with lead boots. It measures 7cm long with a weight of 71 grams.
