This is where most of it began with the release of the Minelab SD-2000, have come a long way since then.
Found in an old copy of the Gold Gem & Treasure which is still producing top stories, another Aussie winner.
Well done Bruce & Mark, first page mentions John Reed an original Minelab dealer, we bought our SD-2000 from John, his shop survives to this day, Reeds Prospecting.

A great read, I have every mag from 1990 to 2016, found it a bit repetitive after that.
I am forever pulling out a random year and having a read.


Det used - Whites 6000D, ML SD2000, ML SD 2001, ML SD 2200D, Garrett Infinium. Minelab SDC 2300. Minelab GPZ 7000.
Current Det - Garrett ASD Groundhog. . Minelab GPX 5000. Minelab GPX 4500.

Yep, John Reed built such a strong reputation, that each new owner wouldn't dare change the name.
Now onto it's third owner post John Reed and they are still called Reeds.
