I'm new to gold detecting. I've always thought this was as boring as playing golf, but I have changed my mind about that 
A friend is very good at emphasizing how wonderful this hobby is, I listened to him for weeks. So last year I got myself an SDC2300, went on a detecting trip and found little subbies, not enough to be rich, but enough to keep me going.
Haven't been detecting since, but now I want more!
