Today's work. Take three on the engine inspection panel. I don't like the angle it is sitting on at the specified height so I've smashed it off. If it was a complete barrel, the top would be outside the nacelle housing. Keeping the details, but changing the sides and base to adjust the angle once installed.

That's looking better. I put a lean-back on it, so now the representation of the whole, by seeing only a part, is more effective and convincing.

Avionics access panel. For lack of detailed dimensions, I'm doing this by eye from photo references. Plotting it all out first, then I'll fabricate in wood and plastic.

I came home to find the tarp is getting old and the d-rings are starting to perish and let go. With an impending thunderstorm approaching, it was a good opportunity to re-set the tarp and change the orientation of it to better cover the Viper. I took a shot from the roof while I was up there.

In the mean time, I've started work on other greeblies around the ship, using up all the scrap wood in my shed.

Today I made my first post, herewith :)

Hi everyone on this forum. I am not new to prospecting, but getting my head more into gold detecting. I have seen a very interesting thread by user MineLab Gold already, so very thankful.

God bless!

Gday ded driver its just a box with some hole saw holes I use it to try to keep my arrows a bit sorted still not big enough cheers Muk.

$40.00plus postage which can be a lot Ive tried to find a reasonable way to post or send them but its frustrating because its useually more than I charge for them cheers Muk.

Muk, re, Arrow Quiver, I was just havin a chuckle at how simple but effective that box is. Beats guys I know that just dump em in a tent pole bag. :Y:
re, Dolly Pots. nice neat units ... I cringe every time I see or hear of someone crushing nice quartz specis. I love gold in quartz. but alas, people gotta get a return out of their hard yakka

My first friction folder, finished today.

A first-time success, but already there are things I would do different. All that is left to do on this one is clean up the cutting edge profile and sharpen, plus work the mechanism a bit to loosen it. It's a little tight - I suppose it's new so that's only natural. It looks good and feels good in the hand, with no worried feeling that it's going to slip during use, nor worry of it opening in your pocket.

I'm pretty happy with it, so now to practice and perfect it, then I'll start changing up the designs.

today I finished & installed the 'swing-up' telescopic legs for my solar panel.
It normally lays down flat in the roofrack, & can be raised up for a swag &/or other softpack stuff to slot in underneath it.
It would then be lowered down onto the swag & have a strap over it for transport to ensure it doesn't rise up in the wind, although the geometry of the legs should prevent that anyway.
When in camp I can set the angle of the panel to catch the early sun as it rises. Front & rear legs can all be raised an additional approx 200mm if required or used to change the angle of the panel.(aluminium RHS inside bigger RHS with a bolt thru them.)
Also has 2 small safety chains (1 front, 1 rear) with a 20mm carabineer catch on one end to latch it in position when raised in camp.

Still quite sick. Had this bloody flu for over 3 weeks now. Slept most of today, but mid- afternoon, I needed fresh air. Spent some time just chilling in the back yard, then pottered around in the shed for a bit. I could have done a lot more, but I took it easy today.

I've been using scraps from a neighbour's skip bin, some plastic coat-hangers, shower fittings and the demolished timber from my pergola as I tear it down from over the Viper and prepare for the renovations where it stands. Beats buying timber. It's nice Oregon and very well seasoned.

All the bits in the fuselage side avionics access panel are just sitting in there for now. I have to recess the opening a little more and then create a back-board to fix them all to, align and pretty it all up with some more visible bolt heads and a little effects paint.
