We have been testing every coil known to man on our 4500 and 5000,s..But we don’t have a 7000.. We have pushed these detectors to their limits. And would like someone with a 7000 to join us for a comparison..Monday to Friday is best for us..Cheers..

Hi Baldy,

Might pay to let people know what area you are in.

Cheers

There is a comparison video on YouTube showing GPX 5000 (with a late coil) vs 7000. Seems they are both quite good, each with their own strengths. Was bit surprised that much more expensive machine is not able to do much more then 5000.

Hi Roel, I’ve seen that comparison, and there wasn’t much in it, all depends on what settings were used ect..I really find it hard to go by some of these utube videos..Most people use that many different settings and you rearly know what they have used..Coils make a huge difference and the shape of the target..Still working on it ..Cheers..

Hello Baldy.

You have seen the light. That final statement of yours is spot on, it's the coil that's used where the huge difference is. Perhaps more so than the settings.

Cheers ozziegold.
