Air tests in regard to depth are probably a lot less accurate but this coin on edge test shows quite an improvement to the signal response and TID compared to the original firmware.

I just posted it for interests sake rather than to convert peoples opinions on which firmware they prefer.

Oh okay. But yeah, the new firmware does hit silver better on edge, that is true.
It is what else is does or doesn't that I don't like. Guess that is why they allowed us to opt back. That itself is interesting.

Time to go for a little hunt

Have no issues with the update , goldie tally was the same after the update . Last night after I used the Knox I covered the ground with the ctx with the bigger coil as I would of missed some . Dont think the Nox goes as deep as the ctx on smaller metal items but its not been disadvantaged by the update. Just need a bigger coil for the Nox .

The 15" should be out any day now Heatho.

The 14x9 was just to heavy on the CTX and really did not offer much more coverage.
not a noticeable difference   it can cover the same area by nothing less than 1.5 time per swing  trying to grid broad acre with an 11 you simply miss to much ground :awful: the 'big' is my go to coil :perfect: till the environment (trees, tussock rocks and crap) dictates different :Y:

just my take on things

Hey everyone
How is this quinox. Read good reviews read negative reviews... looks like it goes deeper than xp deus (9inch coil).
And cheaper than deus.
So far deus has been the best machine ive owned and looking at getting back into detecting. Deus nice and light weight but comes with a price tag over the equinox... but i have picked one up and didnt feel too heavy.....

Seen a few have been using them already in the USA. They beat us to it again :p
The Australian ship musta been the slow one from Malaysia.
Not sure I'll get one but eager to see how Heatho etc. go with them. :Y:

Hmmm, would be nice to be able to sweep the beach a bit quicker but price will be the deciding factor for me. Wonder how recovery will be affected?

Wow thats pretty high price..I was expecting $300 tops..I wonder if that's the standard price..Maybe they will drop in price in the next 12 months..

There is a guy in Adelaide that posted some results , I believe he was a tester

Others I know have paid for it just waiting for Aust. post

Me to Dave.. hopefully the price will drop..I payed 1299 for my Nox...2 weeks later they were being sold for 1100..Wtf.
