Someone has gone to a lot of effort to cut those pennies into quarters,I wonder why :/

Back again from another beach hunt, had a very successful w/e. the sand had shifted and opened up some of the areas I go to, making targets audible enough to get down to. the only thing that didnt work in my favour was a broken sandscoop on Friday but I got it replaced and was right to go. Never thought Id end up with 15 silvers and 5 florins, one being a 1923!. Also got a vintage bottle opener souvenir from broken hill on the beach and a nice unfired cartridge and almost forgot to mention 4 com pennys and 2 half com(no key dates unfortunately)
