Nice setup on the 2200 Redfin I also heard tell of a wireless battery setup that is supposed to work well but haven't been able to get any details on who makes them or how they are used.

Cheers,

Grant

After more imput, buy a harness or a back pac combo; suitable for hip stick, what works , is better to have 2 separate and don't upset harness to get at back pac. All input most greatfull . tell us what you like about your set up.
cheers All.

I like a backpack combo, because you can carry plenty of water, food, first aid etc. Make sure that the back pack has heavy duty sewn in d rings for the bungy cord or hipstick to attach. Don't go overly heavy in your backpack because keeping lite and mobile is a good thing in searching for gold. I have a really well made pack that takes my battery, hipstick and every thing you can imagine, but its heavy and walking up and down hills and scrub looking for gold you feel that weight after awhile.

I bought this one years ago and although its not super heavy duty, it does a good job and carries a hydro pack, gpx battery, food, snake bandages etc. but its a third of the weight as my other pack and i like it because i feel more mobile with it and less tired wearing it.

Hi Roscoe, thanks for your thoughts and the link; was looking at the backpack in the GGT, Outback Prospector, being canvas for the weight factor. At $ 48 not a bad price compared to the harness. Its hard to know if its big enough or too bulky until you get one. Thats why I started the post, pick everyone else brain before I buy.
Cheers.

I use the belt section of the newer model type harnes by it self like a belt with the battery in it, I still wanted to use my camelbak style 2liter backpack as stand alone and have found they don't really interfere with each other so I'm happy with that setup.

Dazza.

Hi everyone Im extremely green so please excuse my knowledge or lack there of .... I just purchased my first detector and went out yesterday and got my first taste, I spent roughly 3 hours down at the local beach and found a cheap ring , some money and lots of bottle tops ,lol !
This morning I got up and Im in extreme pain in my arms and shoulders, is there a way or type of harness to help support the weight of the detector to spread the weight, I see minelab 45 have one but I cant see where the bungy cord connects . Hoping for some ideas !

What detector? Might be just your body getting used to something different?
A full harness & bungy might be overkill depending on what detector your using?
Something like this may be better:

Or if you carry a bit of gear with you (or would like to - drink, snacks, first aid kit etc.) a small backpack or hydration pack with D rings on the shoulder straps & a bungy may be the way to go?

Yeah youre right, was just my body reacting to getting up and down and holding the detector, after a couple of days its all good!

Theres a mine lab bungy kit for a different model includes the clamp for the shaft , $26 on eBay
