Far out. It looks like it's been melted and layered. $1.5m worth !
Beutiful piece looks like the petals on a rose .
To me it seems too symmetrically formed - I'm a bit cynical.

The Latrobe is a cluster of cubic gold crystals. Very nice nugget too.XIV said:

Very nice example of what I've heard referred to as Chevron Gold. If you Google "Chevron Gold Nugget" you'll see other examples.
Seen a couple of similar specimens (though nowhere near as big) from around Central Western NSW.
