Ducked out late this afternoon to an old bush cave camp I hit on numerous occasions with the 705.

The NoX proved its worth finding a range of deep targets including; buttons, what looks like a young bun HP, a Vespa lid (think I may have got a base from this spot ???), some chopped silver and a federation medallion arty: ,a heart stopping cast iron toy gun...........and a couple of recently dropped silvers.



The chopped silver looks like a fob watch case that may have had its monogram cut out to be made into a pendant.




Was surprised with the quantity of items I scored with the NoX. There are multiple terraces in this area, so will be making a return journey

Got a date off the Victorian half penny :lol: not often the only visible feature on toasted coin is the date, but can clearly make out 1877 in the right light. This is still about 50 years off the era of occupation that I am chasing in this locality, but I am definitely honing in on the cave mentioned in a written account of early colonial activity I stumbled across. I hunt in hope that some ill gotten goods and tools of the trade were left behind as the article ended in a hanging of the inhabitant that was captured some distance away from his hideout.



Went back to another rock cave camp area about 1km away as the ground had been recently burnt off and scored a nice collection of modern bits and pieces. The AIF shoulder unit number badge, original marmite jar and a couple of bracelets added to the a collection of early date commonwealth coins.

Your research has payed off Wally, looks like you might have been first to have a go at that site by the number of coppers & silvers. :Y:

No not at all, they are both excellent detectors, I use the Nox in the trashy parks and fields around my area, mainly use the CTX on the beaches. The Nox has the advantage in heavy trash.

If you only had to find one silver coin, a florin would be at the top of the list! :Y:

The suspenders were killing me this afternoon when I took the NoX to an old bush travelling track area that I pick up a few pre-1900s a year or so ago; anyway got screwed in a big way and found a forkncoinspill.

I was hopeing for a fork n silver.
