haha yeah i didnt think it could be that old. Could be a form of stainless maybe but the coppery colour threw me off
 
Marc, sometimes we have to use copper bolsters and copper headed hammers as they do not create sparks. Maybe something used around flammable solvents.

lol Im thinking a big brass showpiece that would of had a nice ornate handle....bout the size of a butcher knife.....then I saw the last pic :8 :D and its tiny.
