Cheers guy's. you'll be amongst it shortly by the look of your cash tub Heatho :Y: Will get some closeups once i can find where i've put the tumbler, just so you can get your jolly's silver ]:D Thinking of heading to that big stretch of beach where i've already got 3 rings in the dry Dan, time to hit the water for a test. :Y: i've just measured my ali/plastic dry beach digging tool and some of those beach 1d's and h/p's came in at 600-700mm, the 5 cent pieces were at 500mm. Interesting to note the deepest coins were only got in am mode, 23-24 sens, 3 recovery and gave off iron grunts to start with. much the same as with the exterra but deeper. the ring threw a mixture of 20/22/24 and the florries were a definite big silver high pitched come and get me signal :D

Not sure of what the stones are in the ring, they sparkle and flash like diamonds but show a range of co;ours from burgundy to blue to yellow and smoky. i've taken a soil sample and cairned the hole in the hopes of finding what fell out of the main post. i can not read the markings at this stage.

They may be marquisite. It was a very popular stone in cheaper jewellery, especially silver rings and brooches.

Second that on marquisite (essentially pyrite), typical jewellery from early 1900's. Well done on those silvers too. :Y:

Thanks for the ID Fnx50 and Goldpick, much appreciated. :Y:

I did go to the beach last night :brokenh: Let's just say i didn't have the greatest of nights. :( I struggled in the water both with keeping my balance and getting the scoop accurately on target with the wave motion. A big learning curve for me, i didn't take spare clothes and was freezing for the duration of the hunt, i also went 2 hrs before high tide when i probs should have went 2 hrs before low tide :8 I had trouble locating targets in the water but once the tide had receded i found plenty of targets over the same ground :| i had to make a mercy dash due to bad weather rolling in and my route home took me straight into the most frightening lightning storm i'd ever had the mispleasure of being in. i think we'll just put this hunt down to experience and move on quickly from it

The junk.

After last nights effort i moped around for most of the day thinking i'd finally lost my mojo  So to test the theory i had an early evening hunt back at the old school site.

Now Silver, remember that fairytale about a big bad wolf harassing some pigs? Well it seems those pigs made houses, one from straw, one from wood and the other from bricks. :Y: That big old wolf laughed his tit's off and then proceeded to blow those puny houses away. Well what you probably don't know, is that there was this smart little squirrel secretly watching the goings on between the big old wolf and those three little piggy's. He said to himself "i need to build a house of Gold, silver & copper, so the big old wolf can't grab my nuts". Well that smart little squirrel worked tirelessly until he'd made himself a Full House. :D

Hi my name is SS, Remember me? lol. Sorry i haven't posted in such a long time, but i have been flat out working mostly 7 days a week, shifting house and re letting my other house. I have managed about 7 or 8 short hunts in that time and i have finished cleaning and sealing the majority of the finds. So, over the next few nights after work (night shift) i will post up the pics with details that i can remember about each hunt. Just to tide things over here are a couple of pics of the previous posts finds after cleaning and sealing.
