These look like the same as the Minelab branded ML 80 Bluetooth headphones, as included with the Equinox 800:

https://m.ebay.com.au/itm/Feintech-AKH- … 0675.m4236

Same specs, and even the same hard Shell Case and cables, etc.

These, too:

Mine came with a stock coil cover...

Just using my CTX3030 Water Proof headphones with the NOX when in the water AND the other coils could be 3 to 6 months away....

But the NOX is my wading / shallow Water machine... The CTX is my wet and dry sand and land detector and the Excal is for the deep and nasty stuff.

Be a few months yet b4 I get to change all the programs to suit the targets I like to hunt..

Best find - The Wife # Equipment - X-Pointer x 4, Nokta Fors Gold Plus, Excalibur II, CTX3030 and a Minore III with custom wood - and lots of other stuff

Would make sense in a way. I don't think Minelab manufacturer headphones as such, I would say they find a company that has something that suits, modify (even if it is just a sticker or logo) and make sure quality check is consistent. Same headphones could come in various branding, but different buyers will get different quality check, depending on what was requested.

Forum member Buckshot2585 found this today with his Equinox 800, after less than 30 minutes with his new machine. 18 carat.

The magic number was 17, in Park 1.

I found the $2 coin. Lucky me...

Does anyone know for sure if Rodd jewellery is in fact only gold plated, as stated in some places on the internet?

Looked at that link.
Couldn't understand why they were thinking 9ct was to do with gold.
I have been of the understanding that CARAT is for diamond or gem weight, and KARAT is for gold purity.

If its gold, it would read 9K not 9ct.

Please correct me if I am wrong.

Gold can be marked either in K or CT or numbers such as 375 (9k) or 750 (18k) etc. European jewellers mostly use K and American jewellers use CT.

I don't think that ring is plated either, look at the "5", it looks all worn and there is no change in metal colour. Anyway a quick SG test will tell you if it's solid gold or not. thumbsup 18k yellow gold is around 15.5sg.

A carat is a unit of weight. It's used to describe diamonds and other precious gemstones, such as pearls. One carat is equal to 200 milligrams, which is the same as 0.2 grams. A two-carat diamond would weigh 400 milligrams (0.4 grams).

A karat, on the other hand, is a measure of purity when referring to gold. You may have seen different types of jewelry referred to as 14-karat gold or 18-karat gold.

I will stick with what I know and what the books say.
Makes sense and allows for no confusion.

In the United States, the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) sets the rules for marking jewelry with a karat value. Under FTC regulations, pieces of jewelry that are 10-karat or greater should be stamped with either a “K" or “Kt."
