Molonglo/Murrumbidgee behind Holt ACT

Hi everyone, new user from Canberra here!

I have been doing some research on a few websites and I think I want to give panning a go. Ive seen a GPS marker (-35.243947 148.969307) for confirmed gold behind the water treatment plant at the back of Holt and Im wondering if anyone has tried this area. The marker appears inside the gates of the treatment plant so chances of gaining access are probably very slim, but Im thinking the marker is a little off and is supposed to be on the river which is a few hundred meters away.

Any tips or advice would be appreciated.

Mate I don't think you can prospect near a water treatment plant or anything like that e.g. Dam.

Check it out on Google Earth, its not near any outlets. I have a mate who goes fishing there all the time so the land is publicly accessible

All i will say is fishing is a lot different to digging holes and panning but thats JMO
