There appears to be quite a few Apps for Gold (and other precious metals) available through say Google Play Store and the like. They also have links to Desktop versions as well. They provide regular reporting on Spot Pricing which gives one an up-to-date appreciation on values.

Put the word out in the van park of a little gold town like Laverton that you buy gold for $X per gram :Y:

Bar that I'm not sure mate. Refined you'll pay a premium and raw nuggets most will want a premium too.

Ray ' refined 9999 purity gold is the easiest to off load down the road for most .
Although you pay a premium over spot .

Wish I bought some Rhodium a year ago...... Only problem is there is GST on it and the physical prices rarely reflect the spot prices.

Palladium also attracts GST, looking at the price chart would have been a very good return if you had some over the last few years.
