Stumbled across this pic from about 3 summers ago. Took my little nephew fishing out at Thompsons Creek Dam. Trophy dam so artificial only. The little guys first fish, he nabbed it on a devon spinner in brown trout colour and an old Fenwick 1-3kg rod Pfluger combo that I bought at least 20 years ago. Off the top of my head it went 4.8lbs, it fought like crazy and danced out of the water several times, at one point I thought the little fella might just let the rod go when the line was screaming but he toughed it out. Pretty damn good first fish!

Top fish makes the dinner so much nicer when they catch it themselves
