Welcome to the forum. I would believe that your gems would be Citrine. Look that one up for the Wave Hill area at the following site,

Sorry, But it is Prehnite.....Common around Wave Hill area... Citrine is a variety of Quartz and is yellow-orange colour.. and not found around Wave Hill that I know of... Although the above link says it is....
