1st swing today
Bought my 705 Xterra on Sat, went for a swing for 1/2 hr today to familiarise myself and start the learning curve, slim pickings but it's a start

Well done Manpa.....

I got out for a late dig last night....The finds were pretty slim and the beach was cleaner than I have ever seen it, no sign that the Beach Cleaner has been around,
I walked and walked and the beeps were few and far between....Maybe a few more detectorists around now so I'm going to need to pick and choose what days,
are best to get some decent finds....I still have a few hot spots so it'll be good.
One find took me by surprise because I've been over this beach lots of times and never found a pre-decimal let alone a Silver....
I did notice though they brought in some sand so I can only figure that it came from wherever they stockpile it....
1921 Threepence...Go figure huh. :)
Home made Necklace was a funny find because I saw the Pull tab and thought HUH or is it a bottle opener?

I love that it's school holidays because it means I can get up and go for an afternoon detect without any worries.....
My girl Kiara - Golddiggergirl is always up for an afternoon dig and it's good to get out for some fresh air....
We went down to the beach cut that gave up so many silvers and there were some coins around.....$4 coin spill and another $4 coin spill, coins were popping,
up in small patches and I was happy enough with the total for such a short dig....
Biggest surprise was finding a nice Beach Silver...Going by the thickness of it - it looks like it's going to be in rather nice condition....
It's soaking in S&V and I will post a picture at a later date....

Nice haul, interesting necklace with the screwdriver bits, what the!
Heading out Fri with DetectingSA, two newbies in an old park, could be interesting. :) :) :)

Thanks Manpa....Good luck for your meet up and hope you both get some nice finds..... :)

SO late dig with Kiara - Golddiggergirl working the beach huts.....A lot of people around interested in what we find....
Always a spot that produces and the first place I have called coin spill hut, the reason being we always get coin spills there and it is a favourite spot
with the teenagers....
Managed to pull out a Silver ring and also a Bling ring with spikes, not something you'd want to get hit with...
Enjoyable short dig as my baby girl was a little tired considering she never got to bed until 5am and was up by 10.... :)

Yeah Silver it does mate, heavy and big and those two spikes are pointier than they look....

Cheers Pete, nice and hot tomorrow so the beaches will be packed again and then the rain is supposed to hit late afternoon... :) :Y:

Another nice hunt there mate, well done. :Y:

Cheers mate, a lot of rain today but if it clears up the beaches should be nice and quiet for a good dig.... :) I wonder what lies beneath the sand
waiting to be saved from the (Beach Cleaner)... :) :Y:

find any finger bones near the ring ?

Looks like it wouldn't be out of place at the door of a Kings Cross nightclub.

Blng Ring = Fighting Ring

Thanks for the info on the ring.....

So Kiara - Golddiggergirl and I have been doing some scouting for some new beaches to detect because my local one is getting hammered by a few detectorists.
We only found 1 good beach out of 4 we visited and it has more beach huts than the Honey hole Beach that replenishes every week.
3 Different beaches each with silvers so I am spoiled for choice. :)
No more rings but that's okay, I am well ahead of where I was last year by a long way.....
Been a good week with my girl, we've argued, yelled at each other and also had a lot of laughs and fun....Gotta love her... :)

The Sixpence cleaned up nicely, I was very very gentle with it because I didn't want to snap it...
