Hello forum,

I just came across this in the rocks at work, I'm assuming it's quartz.

Is there a cheap was to carve and polish this up? I'm talking like maybe a stone hacksaw blade and some sandpaper and polishing compounds or something?

I have no idea, but Christmas is coming and my fiance would love some quartz hearts or something

:Y:

Can't see why not, diamond grinder wheels and a diamond coated file would be useful for shaping

Polishing is the hard part. Any sandpaper would need to be tougher than the quartz ti be useful.

Wet cutting and polishing would be the go. Hopefully someone can advise on the type of sandpapers and grades.
