I had to change the radiator cap recently. I had been in hospital and the Mrs was driving the car around with the temp guage wrapped the top post!!!
When I went to partially release the cap , it blew off never to be seen again?
Luckily there was a Repco store 500 mtrs away. Got the new cap and cooled everything down , topped up with water and went home cursing my wifes inability to read guages.
I then flushed it with 3 lots of water then added Nulon coolant to suit the car and the temp guage reads 50% all the time now.
I was shiting myself hoping the head hadn't been warped.
All seems om now and still might get a pressure test done to ease my worries.

2 weeks into our trip, the Prado and camper are holding up well to the dirt roads and heat of W.A.

Sorry Jaros,
Just seen this. ops
Mob in Melbourne.
Aprox $300.00. Not a cheap one off Ebay.
They actually trade on Ebay but the radiators are
made here in Australia.

Hey Nucopia,

Just saw your post today and was wondering if your tyres pertrude outside of your trailer.

You may have to fit flared guards to make it legal.

Cheers

Doug

Found a small amount so far .. Started a trip report in epic prospecting trips Title: The plans of mice and men. roll

Yeah they do stick out a little, when we get home I will get some rubber guards to put on.
Still have a lot to do on the camper when we get home...draw bar extension ,treg trailer hitch , drop down legs, tool/battery box all the electrical and finish off the water tank plumbing and finish the kitchen.
Should keep me busy for another 18 months cool

Once I took the thermostate out, the Prado has not used any water and has not had an issue with over heating.
Even improved the miles per gallon or km per litre .. thumbsup

You wouldnt credit it..
Went all the way to W.A and back and the camper never gave us an issue easy to set up and pack up.
Last week end the mate came over Sunday morning to help me strip down the camper, so we could take it to his place and start work on replacing the draw bar. When we were removing the canvas and aluminium poles, we snaped two of the poles.. Probably age and both of us not being careful.. sad

What diameter is the bend Nucopia. ?
I have some aluminum bends about the same radius as that.
Old boat awning.

I will measure them and let you know Tath ..
Problem is one is the angle and tube/pole that fits inside the larger diameter tube and extends to prop out the canvas....
I Was thinking about just cutting some tube and pop rivetting over the bend to reconnect it ..but TBH its in the too hard and no time basket ...

The poles won't be hard to pick up mate.
I bent a few poles years ago in a wild storm on the Eyre Peninsula.

This place will be able to help you out . They did all Tambo camper stuff ..................... would be steel but not allow which helps prevents the outcome Redfin had. Have seen Tambos weather storms that many others folded up under, and can only put it down to all steel framework and not alloy.
