They're the worst to clean K :/ But come out better than sea silvers seem to :Y:
There's no sea silvers left here now they all got buried under 2 to 3 meter fill

The 1916 com penny has me intrigued as well, was it in a tin can because it's in mint condition.

I'd take a Roman on our home soil over a sov....If it's legit it's a ripper find (I have no reason to suspect its not)....Lost for words really....Fantastic hit!
