The black in the yellow rocks I put up is very shiny, and a rich black.
That is a nice speci there too.

For some reason that is what the mine seems to be following - the black Quartz.

Times like this a rock crusher would be handy.
The black is basically iron too. Most likely an iron oxide like magnetite or hematite/limonite.BigWave said:

I'd reckon it would be. It can have a very glossy or metallic appearance.
