Newbie in Castlemaine area, Victoria

Hi to all,

Recently moved into the area from Melbourne. We have a lot of lumps, bumps & dips in the block out the back. Figure I have to find out if there is anything under it all. so I went and did a one day Gold Tour with the blokes at Coiltek Gold Centre in Maryborough.

That got me further interested in what may be out there and looking at the local landscape as I walk the dog around the district.

Went off and purchased a new GPZ 7000 from them after checking out various other machines.

Call it beginners luck! But I found a ripper nugget on day one of prospecting. SSOOOOOO HAPPY with the result. Can't stop smiling and more than happy to do show & tell. O :lol:

Beautiful spot Castlemaine, just spent the weekend up there with the missus and 2 kids. Got back to Melbourne about 3pm. Brought the detector along but didnt swing it...was enjoying the peace, tranquillity and friendly locals too much :Y:

Should be back up in a few weeks
