Hi everyone

Haven't had the time unfortunately to do much with regards to prospecting myself this past couple years (though definitely plan on getting back into it once I have a bit more time) - however a mate of mine is pretty active and every now and then asks for my technical expertise in getting him access to the QLD Mines Online Maps (https://minesonlinemaps.business.qld.gov.au/).

The issue is it doesn't really work in many browsers other than Internet Explorer and requires the Silverlight plugin to be downloaded & installed for it to function.

For this reason my mate, being the non-tech savvy bloke that he is (and I suspect most others in the prospecting scene), regularly requires assistance to get it going again (on new computer or if he lost the shortcut, etc).

To make life easier for both him and myself, I've whacked together a little application which will make accessing the Mines Online Maps a lot easier. It'll automatically check to see if Silverlight is installed, and if not it'll install it and then load the map.

The application has the browser embedded within it, which means you don't need to use internet explorer or any other external web browser to load the map.

I only just put it together and haven't had the time yet to test it in a wide range of computers/operating systems, but I suspect all you should need to get it working is a Windows operating system and a stable internet connection.

Don't know if there are many that'll find it useful (beyond bookmarking the website) - but figured I'd link it here just in case.

Happy hunting,
