My Little Find

Found this little piece on a mulloc heap over the weekend, gave it a scratch and looks yellow underneath I'm thinking brass or gold think its from the end of a watch chain but that's just a guess...anyone know how to clean it up ?

Looks like rose gold from here, probly just a coating over copper or brass, but, could be solid

Gave this a bit of a clean today then used my Garrett pin pointer definitely a different sound between silver and gold with a constant tone with silver or metal and an intermediate tone on gold so sounds good Still happy with the find in knowing it could be over 150 years old...Not sure what to do with it as it seams a waist to just toss it in a draw, I've always donated any relic's mainly Army buttons to Miners Den in Maryborough that they keep in there cabinets for all to admire, but still undecided as it could be gold.

Any hallmarks?

Very hard to say, looks like a few engravings but I'm half blind, need glasses to find my glasses :|
