Great collections RM & Bjay.
Brentferguson, there are great end of year specials at Miners Den for the next few days. Got an email today and the specials end 28th June. So if you want a new one now us the time.
Cheers

Thats the plan Dig'n-it, the 28th maybe a tad too soon but knowing they are capable of these prices hopefully we can do a similar deal in a fortnight of so time when I've got the funds. Ive come from a crappy barely entry level VLF but got hooked on it so im so excited! Then we can work on getting a nice collection together like either of the above :D :D

Brent I got a 5000 but if I were to buy my first tector again Id'e definitely go with a new 4500. Greats machine for a great price.

BF don't be ruled by their dates tell them you'll put down a deposit and you want that deal or you'll buy else where. Money talks and BS walks as the saying goes.

Bjay, as soon as I rack up 10 posts i'll send you a PM if you dont mind do get your opinion on why if thats okay. I am leaning towards the 4500 though as I just cant see how the price difference is justifiable after reading hours upon hours of comparison threads. Then again maybe its an experience thing. The price difference between the 2 is the equivalent of getting the wife a Gold Monster to keep her entertained :D

RM, I do have to head over to Bendigo in the coming days so I will definitely head in there and see what we can do.

Brent I advise you to buy the wife something that will actually find gold if you want to share this hobby together. I had the Garrett ATX and had found about 45g while my wife had only 2.9g with the Whites GMT. She was disappointed so I bought her the SDC2300 so that she could get the little bits that I missed. Before long she was getting a lot more nuggets than me and had a smile from ear to ear every day.

A happy wife makes for a happy life ;)

I was still keeping up on gold weight but did a lot more walking between nuggets than she did. I felt I could do better so I sold the ATX and bought a near new 4500 without being out of pocket. Last year with better machines and a lot more experience we found a lot more gold but the same thing happened. She was finding plenty of nuggets but all tiny stuff on the surface (0.02 to 5.5g) but I was getting all the bigger ones (0.13 to 28g) so even though she's busy and happy I can see that she's not contented with the end of day weigh-in.

We'll be out there again this year once her health has picked up but she'll be swinging a 4500 with a light weight 11" coil :Y:

Mrs M with the SDC 0.02g to 5.5g but hundreds of them.
Mr M with the ATX 0.3g to 35g
Mr M with the 4500 and 14" Elite 0.13g to 28g
Mr M with the 4500 and 11" Elite 0.08g to 1.5g
Mr M with the 4500 and 19" Evo 0.16g - $600 coil for one little sunbaker in the moonlight so it can only go up from here :)

Yeah that's the one at Serina. Sabrina must be the little witch who runs the tours there
My brother's caravan park is just a little south at Cape Palmerston.
