I have been crook with a chest infection the last few days but after Rocket's awesome day yesterday and him tormenting me with what a beautiful day it was, I could not sit at home any longer. I am so glad I went out . My finds are from just over 2 hours. What a magnificent site for pre decs. Possibly the richest site we have ever hunted. Funny thing is that it is so obvious, we had assumed it would have been hunted before.

There were lots of coin spills with pairs of pennies and half pennies common enough. My best spill was the 2 x threepence which came out with a penny and a half penny. Our mate Craig score 2 x rams head shillings and 2 x florins in a sweet spill. He ended up with 7 florins, 5 shillings a 2 each of thrips and sixers. Rocket showed his form with 18 silver for the day and a total of 50 silvers between us including Rocket's hunt yesterday.

Today's lesson... again. Always re check your holes for more targets. Literally as I was teasing Craig because I found 2 x half pennies in the side wall of one of his holes, Rocket pulled a sixpence out of one of my holes.

A great little hunt. The last pic is Craig's finds. Rocket's finds... https://www.prospectingaustralia.com/forum/viewtopic.php?pid=341662#p341662

Great to see you all sharing in the spoils, much more fun with company hooting and hollering over each find. Makes me wonder what the site used to host with so many coins, unbelievable.

AMAZING FIND! I found 6.00 only on Sunday mOrning 6.30-10.30! 8.( :N: :N: :N: :N: :N:

Thanks people. :D Another beautiful day so i went back for another short hunt to the same site as yesterday.
My fave finds are the pocket knife and mini pick head. If you don't dig scratchy iron signals, you can miss out on items such as the knife. With it's brass side's and rusted blades it was giving sweet, high tones as well as some iron grunt.

Also recieved my coin cleaning pencils from Clegy. Love the way you addressed them mate, gave me a chuckle. Thanks :D

Nice silver as per usual and especially nice thingy and a skull

Do you know what the unusual thingy is :/

Neat pocket knife, and a couple more silvers to add to the already impressive tally. Might be able to put the pick back into service with a new wood handle.

Hope you enjoy the Andre's crayons, gives you something to do when the weather is crap, or too sick to detect. ;)

Yes I will be getting a handle for the pick. I really like it. Though my lady says she is claiming it. LOL. She wants a handle but no restoration on the pick head. We will see. :D

I will get a couple of my Britannia pennies to practice on in quite times at work with the pencils. I will have another look at you topic before I use them GP. :D

That's all I did to practice on, picked out a scrappy Brit that probably would never have seen the light of day again. That blackened penny I found yesterday cleaned up nicely with a few light rubbings from the larger scourer type crayon, it dod a good job at highlighting the detail. :)
