Anyone had any problems with EL Falcon wagon head lights not working all of a sudden.
There doesn't seem to be a fuse for the headlights.
So I am thinking maybe a relay somewhere maybe by the battery has cacked itself ?
The dash lights went out a while back but that was a fuse. Just seems strange there isn't a fuse or circuit breaker somewhere.

Most likely the switch gear at the steering wheel.
Trafficator switch.
Do you have a set of driving lights fitted. ?
I used to own one and it was the best darn ex Taxi I ever owned.
Duel fuel with 600,000 Odd K's on it.
I put another 150,000 on it before it fell to pieces.

Just had a light bar fitted actually. The standard lights are old beetle Volkswagen standard .
Good thinking. I will blow the switch out tomorrow with compessed air. Bluebird Nissans had that problem with their headlights Mine has the gas tank removed. Hope that's all it is. I hate electrical problems on csrs. Just glad it didn't happen coming home from the prospecting trip last wk end at night.

Let me know if you need some tech info...I'm a FORD Specialist..but not tonight :p
.............. You got an EL hey :p  :Y: ...should got the 5 liter option the lights never fail  :Y:
List what's not working and I'll read tomorrow :p
 And what was fitted?
Go through your fuse box and check ALL  and again and once more :p ..keep ya busy  :Y:
Might of fried the head light relay but the dash lights are different...only swap for the exact same one [relay] :Y:
Did you check....... ..you didn't dim the dash out...seen a lot of customers that did and  ..... check :p

I have a EF I am stripping out to drag race and the only way it will start is to hold the key on and punch the dash at the same time. Must be common as that was the answer from google. So all I can suggest is to punch the dash :D

Like I said the dash lights were just a fuse blown. I have pulled out all the fuses on rhs of dash and all were good. The parkers and tail lights all work. It's only the high and low beam headlights not working.
Today sometime I will go and grab another couple of relays off my old xr6 and see if that does the trick.

I did have a light bar fitted weeks ago. It was done properly with a relay and separate on off switch and feeding off of high beam.

My mum could fix anything from a flat tyre, flat battery, jammed seat belt, over heating, no head lights to running out of fuel by popping the bonnet and smacking the battery terminals with her shoe! :D

Give that a shot :Y:

Edit....you'll have to fix it sooner or later.......can only punch that dash so many times til it leaves you needing a tow truck :p

Looking at fuses isn't always going to show a blown fuse....must test with test light :D or resistance test fuse while it's out
Can you hear your head light relay clicking?....sounds like the switch has farted itself...
Parkers on...low on ...test power at lights...got to make sure not globes at all.....
No low and high? ....switch or could be a bad earth
Got a test light :D

Can't hear the relay work. Thinking the headlight switch stalk on steering column or the one on rhs of the dash not picking up current. Even when you pull back the steerng column stalk to flash high beam.there is nothing. Even if all the globes were blown on the headlights the light bar should still work.

Alright...hmmm where was the bar tapped into.?.............just make sure it's not messing with the power supply, is it easy to disconnect them out?
most likely the dash switch ..........they do fail but is there power at the relay?...'as long as power is there it's the switching side the fault is in
If you don't have a spare relay to swap... pop it's cap off...burnt out will be obvious..may even smell burnt
If no lights but parkers will be dash switch/or relay....single beam low or high only is the stork
Do you use standard globes with UV cut...?

I've changed the relays. Didn't make any difference.
The light bar has been on for over 2 months. Its just hooked into high beam wire behind the r/h headlight
I can disconnect the light bar by switching off the switch.
How hard are the dash switches to take out ?

Just can't think if that model had a circuit breaker like the ED....look under the relay box...will be on the main battery wire
To check the relay for power remove and the side of the relay it has the pin destination....you need Battery power and a ignition power
If the two powers are there............ the switch the outer knob pulls off then the dimmer arm..don't snap the dimmer arm :p .then the ring nut.....
From memory you can sneak them out under the dash without pulling the speedo assembly out....Tight tight
I'd prefer to see you move the bar splice ... sorry I'm like that...I'd take power from somewhere fresh then join into the switching side of the headlight relay only to power the bar relay
If you need we'll sort that out when the lights come back on down there  :Y:

If you can't work out how to get the switch out, hardest bit is disconnecting the plug with one hand  ....I've got skinny arms that get hard to get to places
The speedo's easy..... console trims and facier trim then 4 screws and roll it forward to sneak it out to the passenger-side
It's a handful of screws a couple of sneaky hidden ones just be careful with the clips.....be getting a little fragile with age
No need to pull the wheel...adjust the column down  :Y:

Edit...funny...just went to check a break down...supposedly flipped a accessory belt
It's spat the harmonic balancer pulley ring and goooone .. ..his jump charger's in the boot  ....Flat  ....dude  :p
Someone's sleeping out :p

Well guys. On the wk end had a good look at the lighting issue. Turned out to be the relay next to the battery. 2nd one from the front. Changed that and all is good again. Except the headlights are rubbish hence the light bar which is awsome.
