Hey guys and girls.

I found this one today in change.

1973 50c, which is very collectable only 4 mil minted for circulation (thanks silver :Y: ) But this one also has an error that they call a "lamination flaw" which is caused by an impurity in the metal of the coins planchet.

Nice interesting error.

Cheers
M3

(Sorry for the photos, im using a diferent method to take the photos and it seems to be loading them on their sides, but you'll still get the idea of whats goin on :D )

Happens to me too M3, so I rotate the coin for my photo shoot to overcome the problem.
or sometimes I will do a screen shot up the right way and load the screen shot instead of the photo (that works too).
Only way I seem to be able to rectify my dilema within my limited capabilities. :Y:

Cheers silver, I've been using this magnifying app to also take photos, the photo file size is spot on so no need to reduce the photo before uploading but it seems it uploads the photo 90 out

It used to work fine the way i use to do it so i might just load photos up the old school way, keep it simple

Nice find eldorado, you've probably never seen one because that coin was not minted for general circulation, someone has busted it out of a mint set or pnc and spent it as face value. Thats a really good find in circulation. The 'C' under lizzie is the Canberra mint mark and usually if you see that 'C' then the coin wasn't ment for general circulation. Well done :Y:

2010 Centenary of Coinage:

Issuing Auth., = RAM-AP (RAM = Royal Australian Mint = Canberra - usually)
Coin Value = $1.00
#'s Issued = 15,000 (as read)
Date of Issue = 23/02/2010
Issue Price = $19.95
2011 Inflated McDonalds Current Value(in the card) = $25.00

eBay auctions prices = $12-15.00 more if GEM coin/card...
Uncirculated, out of card expect similar to less, and a circulated one more-so imo.

I don't have any later publications than 2011 so there may be more info. avail....

Found these coins this week.Three 20c pieces from the 2015 ANZAC coin collection and another ANZAC coin from 2017 which the design is based on the design of the roof where the unknown soldier is housed at the War Memorial in Canberra.

If you draw a line across a normal 50c piece you will see the difference.

I see an extra platapus snout with nostrills in front of the normal snout.... so, it was double struck. But off centre the first time... that would acount for that right hand side, but with the rim still looking good.
