Am guessing early to mid 1900's based on the "Advance Australia" wording. Hard to date or track down details of some buttons, as so many were produced throughout the 1800's/early to mid 1900's unfortunately. The rich gilt term is like a statement of quality on the item by the manufacturer (almost a branding), and also obviously relates to the standard of the gold gilt coating.
