Yep, I is indeed George Reid. There is an extraordinary marble bust of him in the National Portrait Gallery in Canberra, but unfortunately no pic of it I could find online.

GT gets it.

Thanks Doc,

He was known as Yes -No Reid because of his changing position on Federation at the time.

Question- Who am I

I was the greatest of them all at my position on the field. There was a terrifying picture of me in the papers at the time which summed up my style.

GT :)

clue 2

It is widely accepted that no one will ever surpass my feats on the field of play. I was a massive scary person.

Just a guess, was it Bumper Farrell?

Doc, Bumper was big and scary but the fellow we seek is from more recent times. He was however from the right city.

There a few more clues.

Was he "captain blood" Jack Dyer

Captain Blood he was not. The bloke I seek would of picked him up and thrown him over the fence.
The bloke I seek was the best at his position on the field ever ..

Was it Anthony Howard "Tony" Lockett?

Doc your still a great player of this game.
Yes it is Plugger Lockett. A mean machine who holds to this day the record Goal Kicking ever in the AFL.
