i have a detector with the needle display it has a tune, ground , sensitivity and discrimination knobs. Would anyone know the best settings for theses? cheers

Hi Rod,do you have a manual for it ? Almost sounds like a old radio shack. Like this
if so. Put battery test to operate, mode:VLF. Disc at approx 9 o'clock. Sens approx 12 o'clock adjust ground to centre needle. Adjust tune to stop chatter (noise) play around with settings & use test samples to fine tune disc. Hope this helps. Cheers. pm me if you would like to meet next week. (See members meet up.).
