I am looking to make my own harness because I am not very happy with the one that come with the 7000, and the harness on the market are too expensive, I need something light but strong, with the d rings for the bungy and the speaker, the one that DD make is not bad, but using a 7000 I don't need the battery pouch neither the pick holder. Anybody tried to make their own harness, any suggestion would be appreciated. Cheers

Find an old back pack, and liberate the harness to modify to your needs?..

$5 at the Salvo's?

Not that familiar with MD harness systems.

There are many used for the military, and includes vests, the MD types I assume are based upon these designs.

Have you looked into Army Disposals that sell REAL ex army gear?
This stuff is always improving and adjustable, different military's are using different harness's, so dont just look at Aus sites or gear.
There are specialist makers of Military harness's that will make something of your own design.

Maybe you can swap your design idea's for a tailor made new harness - your negotiations.
apparently contact through their Facebook Account now.

I'd simply contact Dean (DD leather) and he will simply make one to suit your requirements. Has custom made many items for me in fact added extra tabs for speakers etc on shoulder straps and even my gaiters he made to specific size :Y:
You certainly won't buy a stronger harness and defy anyone to wear his stuff out it's that tough ;)

I tried to contact them via email and sent massages on their website, they never replay to me, I was just asking if they can make me an harness without battery pouch and pick holder, maybe they are not interested.

Dean has been away for last three or four days at Ballarat field day swap meet etc and spoke briefly with him today.................... he's catching up on emails and orders after getting back.
I'd give him a call ................... I think you will find it's far from a case of not being interested ;) Deans one of the nicest blokes I have ever dealt with and in fact has become a friend in trading with him and has helped me out many times as his knowledge with near on 30 years experience prospecting he knows his stuff. That's what makes his gear so good in that he's a prospector and knows what works in the field and what doesn't.
Pick holder is no issue as it's either slide on type or clip on so easily removed. :Y: As said a quick phone call will get it sorted I'm sure :)
