I'm looking to purchase an sdc 2300 sometime in the next few weeks (taking a one day gold prospecting tour first before committing to the buy) and I'm curious as to which resellers and businesses are good to deal with? Cheapest price isn't the deciding factor, looking to purchase from a business with a good repute for customer service and after sales service. I'd appreciate any recommendations :)

I did a search but given some of the results are a few years old, I don't know how well the recommendations hold up now.

I have found Coiltek 03 5460 4700 Maryborough very good to deal with over the 36 year detecting I have purchased many detector from all detector dealers but I have found coiltek look after their customers and are friendly to deal with regards john :)

I agree

Any of the Miners Den outlets should be fine to purchase an SDC from, I've bought Minelab gear from both the Bendigo and Adelaide shops with no issues and with prompt postage. There is also a Miners Den based in Melbourne if that is closer to your location.

I haven't purchased anything from Coiltek in Maryborough, though have visited the shop. They were very friendly and knowledgable on that occasion, and offer detector training if required. They were out doing some training for our club members on my last trip to Maryborough, and that was on site where we were prospecting, not out the back of the shop. :)

Thanks for the recommendations guys, but the Maryborough store is a bit too far out of the way (I should've mentioned this first) despite the fact I'll be detecting up the GT way. Miners Den Melbourne is a 5 minute drive from where I live (eastern 'burbs of Melbourne) so it'd make chasing things up with them if I had any problems less time consuming.

Are there any other places in Melbourne or is Miners Den pretty much it?

Miners Den Melbourne would be the official Minelab outlet for the city, although there is a dealer in Hallam called Scubalife that also carries Minelab stock. The rest are in regional locations (Ballarat, Echuca, Shepparton).

Thanks for that Goldpick. Miners Den will be it then I guess, no rush (need to do the one day tour, but TBH, i've already bought this in my mind lol).

Once you have your mind set on a detector, it's pretty hard to be swayed by anything else. Good luck on your purchase and prospecting. :)

Miner's Den in Mitcham Rd Mitcham. They offer competitive prices but give great service and have detectorists/panners there that give great advice (maybe same for other locales). Also fun for a show and tell.

Thanks Scrounger. I gave it a whirl out the back, and apparently there is gold everywhere (or rusty nails at the very least).

Well done Cazalla, I bought my gpx from miners den in Sydney and have dealt with miners den in Vic too, they are great to deal with and the after sales help I got was brilliant
Hope you find a heap of gold with the sdc and can't wait to see pics of that yellow stuff we all are lookin for

Good choice Cazalla. In my opinion the SDC is a great first detector.
Low and slow listen to the machine. Good swinging.

Big thanks to Nenad from Phase Technical. :)
After a trip to the city of churches for the pick up of my new machine the mighty CTX3030 was a pleasant and most informative day spent with Nenad .
I probably learn't more in a few hours than I had in months whilst watching a bloke who knows his stuff go about business. The result was I reckon I have walked away from a lot of golden stuff in the ground. :/
Highly recommend a few hours training with Nenad and can only say thanks again for your hospitality and professional service :Y:
ps Also loved the silver fish apple turnover .......................... yummy stuff :p

PS to last ...................... air travel with a lithium battery no big deal :) Air Travel with oversize cabin luggage real big deal :N: And if you saw where a detector was left in the middle of a floor that anyone could have picked up and walked away with I wouldn't recommend having it put underneath. Took me over an hour to locate after landing on the trip over
Tiger Air = time to spare ..................... never again :N: as even after pre approval before even purchasing ticket of all required including documentation for Lithium iron battery was still up till the last 5 minutes as to if they were even going to let me on the flight

Well Nenad it certainly works :Y: ................... but I think it may be colour blind :) :) :)
Thanks again for all your help including dropping us at the airport :Y: Oh ................... and also a big thanks to Adelaide Casino of course for their more than generous donation and sponsoring my trip and purchase of my new machine :p :p :p Number 19 straight up ;)

On that note how close can you go to getting the lotto numbers right last night ................. the red was what was needed DOH ]:D
