So I gave the Pin away to an old bloke who asked if I would sell it to him, I said no mate you can have it....He cleaned it up and Lacquered it up then sent it to his daughter. I was happy to give it to him because a mate of mine from NSW sent me a beach scoop and said he will never use it and that he didn't want anything for it...so paying it forward seemed like the best idea.

So last night I went to the park there were lots of 5c and 10c coins which is normal for this park especially under the trees, I know somewhere there has to be a spot where I could find the older drops and I may have found it....Pulltabs are dated back to the 60s - 70s which is a good sign then I chanced upon a nice little signal....
Thought I was in luck....

Now before we all get carried away with the find....Yes it looks like an old Army Helmet, Yes it is Metal....But it is only the size of a 10c coin... :( Thought it may have dropped off another Crop Pin but searching the immediate area only produced more 5c and 10c coins....
It is a large area and will be interesting to see what else comes out of the spot...

Until next time gents/blokes GL and HH....Cheers GDA

Well done gda...You would think it was a pram wheel cap...but they are usually steel...Could be an old one....Either way interesting find...Also that pin turned out really nice :Y:

I'm not sure it is an axle cap from a pram myself,....the base looks too flared and no retain pins to hold it on, and no way to hold a 'shim'????

I stand to be corrected...

www.google.com.au/search?q=pram+axle+caps&rlz=1C1MDNA_enAU593AU593&espv=2&biw=1067&bih=513&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwjVkNSz-KrSAhUKzLwKHfk3B5AQsAQIGA#tbm=isch&q=old+pram+axle+caps&*

We might have another 'what am i really?' item... :Y: 8) the mystery deepens/continues..

Great thing with the pin, what a beaut that is, and i really dig the use of the cap as a helmet :p

Pretty sure it is a copper fitting that seals aircond pipes that have refridge gas in them on new installs.
Used to keep internals of copper pipes clean in a system.
Usually a brass nut like a kinko nut holds it in place ready for a quick connection.

Could be wrong.....

Date night dig with the wife turned up a lot of OLD coins which means the cleaner lifted them from deep below....A couple of bling bling earrings and a weird find, like very old especially since I found it where the 22 Carat Gold Ring was....
Anyone know what the E II R means?

The Parks have been slow....$1 here and lots of 5c, 10c.....$2 the next dig with 5c and 10c....I am going to leave the beach until Sunday....Weather forecast is for hot weather through the whole week so Sunday Night is dig night because Monday morning is the dreaded Cleaner....

Cheers and have a good week all... GDA :)

Nice one gda  :Y: I don't think the machine will pull the coins up maybe but I've found the best time is straight after the rain ;)
The beach is flat, no footprints and the usual top layer in compacted so the coins are shallower
Only problem is the wet sticky sand but hey that's the beach
It's not a cuff-link it's a LURE    it will lure you back to look for the other link

The last storm tide was the biggest I have ever seen on the beach but these older coins were higher up...One day I will watch the cleaner....Was hitting on some deep deep targets but only just being picked up by the detector, I thought oh well I will get it next time...
