Hi there,

We are very new to fossicking and are looking for places within 2 hours of Bacchus Marsh in Victoria? Thanks for your help!! :)
 
There's a lot of places within 2 hours of the marsh creswick is probably a good place to start ..
 
Try mortlake quarry.

good thing is you will find stuff.

nothing sucks more than stuffing around trying to find where to look only to not find anything when your there.
 
Chert, gold, sapphire albeit very small found at Morrisons. The chert is very workable and produces a fine polish. The river is also a great spot for a picnic. Suggest you contact a local Gem Club - members from both the Ballarat Gem & Mineral Club and Geelong Gem Club will be able to help.
