Hey,

So I haven't been very active lately due to the fact that I've started a uni course...so priorities y'know. Have been dying to get out and managed to steal a few spare hours a couple of days ago and went on a spur of the moment outing. Hopefully once I get into the swing of things I'll be able to get out more...

Anyways, I headed back to the spot in was at last time in Gippsland amd I did alright despite the fact that I broke my crevice sucker fairly early on. Got a little picker :)

Thanks everyone :)

I'm happy with what I got considering the amount of material I brought back. I'm glad because I probably won't be able to get out for another couple of weeks so wouldn't want to have left it on a bad note haha.

Here's the latest installment. Went back to Gippsland yet again and got 0.35g for my effort. Twas a good day out but I hurt my back. I mentioned it in the video saying I don't know why it's sore...but I just forgot. On the way in there was a tree down across the road...I had to move it to get past and hurt my back in the process. Ugh. It's still really sore. I won't be doing that again. I've fractured vertebrae twice in my life, once from heavy lifting and it feels very much the same. Sigh. What an idiot ey. You'd have thought I'd have learnt by now.

HI Guys,
This is my first post and we have never been panning before other than a visit to Mogo Town LOL but we are looking at stopping at Reedy Creek later in the year possibly early September.
We have a detector and have had a little fun with that around the city and we thought we would extend our explorations by trying our hand at panning. We will be just passing through (2 day stay possibly) and will try not to look shifty, we also promise to say hi if we see you and would be very grateful with any hints or tips. We will be travelling with a toddler with a bright pink pan, so we will be easy to pick out from other blow ins. Please say hi if you see us.
:)

BTW your vid was great.

Well Reedy Creek is a great place to start your panning adventures. You WILL get some gold in the pan, no doubt. The gold is everywhere up there (or down there depending where you are). Its heavily worked...especially in the easier to get to spots so finding a good spot might take a little bit of searching though. Be sure to check out all the likely spots the same as any other creek and if you keep at it youll find a nice little spot. Im sure other could give some better advice since Ive only been there a few times.

Thanks for watching the vid :)

Long time no see ey. Here's quite a long video from my latest outing. Went back up to Reedy Creek for a few leisurely days of camping and prospecting (I really need to find some other spots I can get to with my 2wd where I can camp and prospect. I know places I can camp, or prospect but Reedy Creek is the only place with easy access where I can do both. Or I should just get a 4wd ey haha).
