A french who wants to prospect in Australia

Hi everybody !

I'm here because I want some informations and explanations about gold finding in Australia (I'm French).
I might come in Australia in july 2016 to october 2016 for a work placement in an agribusiness/ food company (I don't no which one yet. I don't start my search).
During my work placement I will want to gold panning and gold detecting. But I don't know no if I need permissions to prospect in Australia (It's hard for me to find the good informations on the net and I don't know if my nationality is a problem or not. )
Can you help me ? Because I don't want to do anything illegal.

Depends on which state you plan to prospect in. The rules governing mineral extraction are administered by the states and territories ie, Victoria , New South Wales, Queensland, South Australia, Western Australia, Tasmania, The Australian Capital Territory & The Northern Territory.

Study the forum. Learn from the topics posted. No one will tell you where to find "their" gold.
