My silvers so far this year. One of the florins is a copper colour. Any ideas?

Another couple of hours, a other bunch of Brown Buggers. I was apparently in the wrong section today. Got the 2 half pennies when I moved to a different area. The 50 cents was just laying on the grass. No detector needed to pick it up.

Mmmm, no Florin, definitely in the wrong spot. ;) It's amazing how detecting makes you so much more aware of what is on the ground, I picked up a fine gold chain that was simply sitting amongst some seaweed on the beach a while back, no detector required. :)

If onIy i could play like him Rocket. 7 years of lessons. Wasn't very pleasant tho with the evil nun pulling my hair and hitting the knuckles with the edge of a ruler. Evil bitches.

It's a BIG area GP. Take me years to cover it all. Some areas will produce better than others. I am definitely getting more coins after 2 years detecting. Covering some of the ground I did at the start and still finding coins.

Man what a day. My longest day detecting. 6 hours over the coil with Rocket.
I had an absolute blinder of a day. It was a day of many firsts for me and I don't know which find I am more excited about. One of the first targets was and old spigot which is awesome. Shame the tap is missing. Love the patina. Found my first dog tag, first cartridge, first war medallion. This seems to be from a WW1 Italian regiment and it's between it and the spigot for my favourite of the day. Also got an old 925 ring and a 1938 Britannia penny. Another matchbox car and 2 padlocks to add to the collections. A silver pendant with Latin text I think.

OH and a couple of coins as well. :D Only 2 silvers, a shilling and a six pence.
Thanks Rocket for the company.

Plenty of good stuff there Rod, how do the legs feel after all those squats? I did 3 hours yesterday and the same today and the legs are a bit sore, getting back into form though after my break.

Yeah breaking the detecting up with a bit of work should help you recover enough for the next hunt, it sure takes it out of you some days. :D

Thanks guys. My best day detecting. Heatho when you add the trash I dug, that's a lot of bending and squatting. My arm is aching from swinging the detector. Thank god I can go to work for a spell tomorrow. :D

The spigot would look nice all polished up.

Breweriana is big these days, maybe repro tap handles are available.

What a day, do you think there was an Italian internment camp near the site?

You are seriously making me want to move back to the Hunter Valley and have just given me a bad case of medallion envy.

Any idea what the brass screw nut with the notch is? I have found half a dozen of those before.
