Found a bit of turquoise among grandad's old rock display. A nice, duck egg blue colour but a pretty bloody thin piece. Too thin to do a decent sized cab. Hoping and praying it didn't break, I worked it down flat and put it in a bezel cup. Seems to have worked ok.

This is the second bit of the stuff I have worked on. Not only is it a different, lighter shade than the other piece, it is noticabley harder as well. I think the other bit would probably have cracked if I tried to do something this thin with it but this bit seems to have stood up well.

Also, it took on a significantly higher polish than the other bit, though you can't see that in this photo.
 
Cheers Richard. I reckon it sort of looks like a sattelite photo of SE Asia, though Japan looks a bit shrivelled :)
