Was in Supercheap yesterday & they had hard cases with pick n pluck foam on special. Thought it would be great for a storage case for the SDC.
The case - 560mmx430mmx215mm - http://m.supercheapauto.com.au/Product/SCA-Safe-Case-560x430x215mm/326046

A supplied case would have been nice but this one will serve the purpose. An all-in-one grab & go case that will give added protection in transit. Just need to grab it + my pick & I'm set to go for a short or extended trip.
The pick n pluck foam is a bit flimsy in places but will do the job. I'll be looking into some better glue to hold it in place better but with care it will be ok. Did stick it with some spray on glue but didn't hold the best.
If anyone knows of a strong foam glue let me know - it will save me searching :D

Believe it or not, Clear non acetic Silastic.
Grab a few spare pieces and try it.
Give it time to dry. It can be a bit of a bugger to stop it from slumping but with foam I do not see a problem.

Another alternative people may like to consider is the Irwin 500mm Builders Tool bag available from Bunnings for $15. Ive just joined the forum so probably cant post the direct link.
Everything including your harness fits nicely into these heavy duty bags that also come with a shoulder strap and pockets for accessories..

Geez man
A supplied case & for only $4000!!!!!!!!!!!, you don't even get a case supplied for the "Flagship" & you pay $6500 for that, expecting a little to much for $$$$ aren't you??????

Couldn't pass it up mate, you want a case I want a better ergonomic design & a charger that does not fail, to each his own hey!!!!!!!!!!
cheers
Lee

I didn't pay $4k for mine (even with add-ons), minor issues fixed with Black Al's cover, my charger hasn't failed & the biggest issue with the headphone cord being too short has been rectified with Nenad's adapter. Now I have a case I'm as happy as a pig in sh1t
Master Instruments must have had a batch of chargers get through without much QC? Can't really 100% blame Minelab for that but I reckon there are better/more robust C cell chargers out there that could have been supplied?

I looked at those http://www.bunnings.com.au/irwin-500mm-27-pocket-builders-toolbag_p5820402
Decided on the hard case as it offers a bit more protection & you can put a lock on it (to keep the honest people out  ). Those Irwin bags would be good too though especially for the price.

Hey mbasko
Mate it was a bit of tounge in cheek humour just to emphasise we all have our own opinions & that is fine, I have no issue with you at all!!!!!

What I will say is I find it concerning that some folks won't even acknowledge that there are at least a couple of issue's that should have been sorted, I believe strongly that the potential purchaser is fully aware of these issues however minor.

Once again not having a go at you just an in general statement.
cheers
Lee

p.s. I do want an SDC but I really need a good field test to confirm if the good exceeds the issue's raised.

 She's cool mate - I knew where you were coming from. I don't hide the SDC issues but I reckon they are pretty minor & fixable. Much like issues that you could point out with a GPX or any brand detector really.
Who knows maybe Minelab are listening & will release a V2 down the track?
