Gold and silver quite often happily coexist.
Okay , looks like there are one or 2 small pieces , with both Silver and gold running through it . I thought it might of been old timer mercury but looks like a combination of both Silver and gold ?will post pics tomorrow

couple of buttons Ive made from the fines. One from the GT and one from Gippsland. You can clearly see the difference in purity. The Gippsland ones obviously got heaps more silver in it.

Not much happening on the detecting front , so I panned out some of the last bag of unclassified dirt taken from south west of Warwick . Cracked my first grammers . The rest of the Gold is in the -20 to + 100 size . Im thinking will need to sluice the dirt , as it will take me a year to pan and seperate the smaller gold. Any ideas would be appreciated fellas . Anyways here are some of the bigger nuggets .

A couple of spare hours this morning so I was off for some crevicing. The creeks been producing good results over the last few months but the colour has run out on the inside bends I have been working, saturday mornings result for a couple of hours saw just .07 gm.
So I went to another spot a 100 mts downstream and got .2gms,another one 100 mts further along and I got .3gm.
Hopefully we get some rain soon and replenish the gold stocks, but until then its time to get to the bottom of those crevices. :Y:

Gobsmacked! Go Jamie, go! I would be working that spot around the clock. Well done squire!

I hit some bedrock this morning for a nice half gram.
The creek is now completely dry but this bedrock is easily accessible once the 6 to 8 inches of overburden is removed. The overburden is mainly mud on the top with an inch of gravel and clay sitting on the bedrock.
Its an inside bend that the gold always falls out in whenever it floods, and last years results were pretty fair as well from the same spot.
I had a bit of trouble locating this spot in the creek this year as last winters flood really altered the look of this spot, but now Ive located it I will try to get back over the next week or so when I have a couple of spare hours.
This come from about 2 sq feet I recon,so I will expand that area and see how we go.
The pics show some of the gold covered in mercury which isnt unusual for the gold I find here, and some bedrock leadshot!
