Hello fellow Gemsters

I am writing to ask if I can get help with what the basic equipment I need in order to start gem and gold finding
I am living in canberra and looking for some people who knows what they are doing with gem hunting and teach me the ropes
Cheers any help would be awesome I am keen to travel for this new hobby too.

The only place that I know of is Burrinjack Dam but its a place for fossils but you still can have alot of fun there with fishing, the fossils are literaly around your feet. Just make sure that the water is 65% or under or the you can not get access to the fossils.
