Well no Sunday silvers today :|
but... I did get to cut up some Mangoes :)
Our very own mangoes from our very own trees this year.
Fleshing the Bowens as they ripen and freezing them to eat in winter when no one else has got any ]:D

the lighter colored ones are the common mangoes fleshed to make chutney... I let them ripen a little more than usual to see if I can get that mango taste right into the chutney.

But those nice looking ones are all ripe bowens fleshed.... n I got to go through most of the seeds to get the left overs too... yum ! :p
And..... there's still a big box of bowens to go that I'm waiting on to ripen up properly.... gotta sniff out the ripe ones each morning now till the job is done.
And..... each year those trees will just keep getting bigger n bigger with even more fruit on board.
Thankfully I had that green thumb installed as a young un..... but you can get yours at any age (just read up or you tube it on over time) :Y:

God I love mangoes. Your one lucky bloke to have a tree. I am Jealous of you. Jealous I say.

I ate mango first time in my life in 2017 since then I am hooked. I just hate peeling and cutting. I with there are seedless mango! 40% is that giant flat pip!
I wonder I can grow mango in Victoria just by planting those pips in the soil???? :|

Possibly capa, but you'd need a frost free sunny aspect to grow it in. Maybe start it in a pot in a glasshouse till it's about 1 to 2 metres tall then poke it in the ground. :Y:

Here's how to eat a Mango.
grab a pointy sharp knife and a nice smelling Mango
1515984479_screenshot_2018-01-15-12-40-33.jpg

hold your knife close to the tip like this so it only cuts shallow
1515984897_screenshot_2018-01-15-12-40-51.jpg

cut a shallow circle around both ends (all cuts to be just through the skin)
like this

and this
1515984815_screenshot_2018-01-15-12-41-09.jpg

cut down both sides of the mango (to join the circles on the ends)
1515984987_screenshot_2018-01-15-12-41-27.jpg

peel out the side sections
1515985053_screenshot_2018-01-15-12-41-40.jpg

and it should look like this
you can now hold the two ends while you eat your mango
1515985153_screenshot_2018-01-15-12-41-48.jpg

those ends will keep your fingers dry and clean while you eat around the guts of it
1515985282_screenshot_2018-01-15-12-42-03.jpg

should be looking like this by now
1515985342_screenshot_2018-01-15-12-42-16.jpg

by now it's tasted soo good you don't care about your clean fingers anymore, so you rip the ends off and clean it down to the seed.

and don't neglect to scrape the inside of the skin with your teeth to get to the very last of your mangoes worth.
Happy eating. :p
