Hi Alfie
I'm living in casino and just got a metal detector. i'd like to go out detecting one day.

Lismore Detectorist here, keen for some coin/relic hunting in the area.

Hi Sorry for a slow replay but I have been away for most of this year. Nundle, Hill End and Lightning Ridge mostly.

I have a Minelab Eureka Gold VLF (for sale) and an SDC2300 that I recently bought. Found it difficult to find gold in Drake area but might try Paddy's Flat or Billy May's Point next time. Target locations for 2018 and 2019 are Tibooburra, Nundle, Hill End & Clermont. Not keen to go to Tibooburra via Wanaaring on my own as I prefer another vehicle and Tibooburra via Broken Hill (almost) is way too far to drive.

I spoke to members of Lismore Gem Club at the recent Gemfest and did not get a sense of any prospecting interest or expertise. Was attempting to get enough interest to form a gold prospecting group locally (Ballina/Lismore) but so far only you have responded, since 2014. Drake area gold is way too fine for detecting (or so I am told)

While I have hunted for coins at Coogee and Maroubra beaches in Sydney and a few parks, I am more interested in gold fossicking / detecting.

Regards

Might be putting out chunky gold near drake but I will need to try harder to get it. The largest of the flakes I found weighs 0.00000000001 grams, or so my imagination thinks. Want to try Paddys Flat, Pretty Gully and Billy May's Point. Needs to get a bit warmer than today.

Hi Alfie Im at Glenreagh Id like to goin a group to go and share our ideas metal detecting and fossicking I have a bit of gear for crevicing tools Croc highbanker also ctx3030 gpx 4500.So would like to hear from you or any other prospector out there that would like to get together

We're on the Gold Coast and not averse to heading south of the border to chase both gems and gold. If it's an overnighter we travel with our dog as there is nobody to look after him at home, I realise this can make things tricky, as we don't have a camper at present. So day trips are best for us.

Drove out to Tooloom Falls recently. Nice place to camp. Drove down to Billy May's Point but seemed to be private property and was fenced. Area near bridge over Tooloom Crk was no good. Paddy's Flat rewarded me with about 8 minute fly specs for a few hours work. Probably won't go out to Drake, Tabulum, Tooloom area again.
