hope these pics come through. an odd rock from wa
 
haha yea its te same rock back and front the dept of mines and petroleum sent me an explanation saying it probably started off as organic matter and got rolled around in iron stone then fell into sandstone and traveled for a bit till it found me. but its pretty interesting. it was a neat find.
 
The mines dept explanation seems feasible. I would be more inclined from the pic to think the gray stone is of the Basalt group and the stone formed on the perimeter of an ancient Lava flow, which were common in that region. Chip the exposed end off and you should be able to see if it's volcanic (Igneous) or sedimentary.
