I recently bought these headphones off a chap in the UK (BJ detecting headphones - on ebay), who specialises in just making detector headphones. They are based off 3M Peltor Optime 2 foam and gel earmuffs, and are extremely comfortable, and really do an excellent job at cutting out ambient noise to hear faint tones.
They have seperate volume controls, 32 ohm mylar speakers (500hz, 85dec output), circuit limiter, removeable plug lead with stereo one end and mono on the other to suit any detector. I also optioned to have the lead plug at the back so it is out of the way, he will do custom cabling and plugs to order. Very reasonable I thought for a princely sum of $73 and $18 postage. He also offers a higher spec model with stereo/mono switch, 150ohm speakers, and two cables (straight stereo to stereo, 90deg stereo to stereo). Just thought I'd give him a plug (pardon the pun), since I was so happy with what I received, especially for the money outlayed. :)

Haven't used them for years now, though from memory they were a little uncomfortable around the ears after decent excursion into the field, not to mention the sweat buildup in the cups. Also the coily cable was a pain getting caught up in branches and becoming twisted all the time. Much prefer a completely wireless setup now there are plenty of options out there.

Thanks for the feedback fellas :Y:
My old Seinheissers are getting a bit tired so just kicking tyres at the moment. Couldn't compromise on comfort after using them.
